Tsunami Donation
Tsunami hit the shores of Sri Lanka on 26 December, 2004 and the shores of Sri Lanka were devastated. Our Association rose to the occasion and ignoring all formalities the committee met in emergency session and decided to respond to the distress call by community radios. We donated $1,000.00 to the call by Inba Thmizh Oli and another $1,000.00 in response to the call by Australian Tamil Broadcasting Corporation. We were acclaimed by both radios that we were the first such organisation to respond to such distress calls and many other OSAs have followed suit. We emerged as yet another trend setters.

We followed our efforts of philanthropy and collected clothes, toys etc and despatched to Sri Lanka. Also we despatched a box of clothes and dry goods etc to Vasanthy, an old student who was a victim of Tsunami. Vasanthy acknowledged with thanks and stated that it was the first package received since they were affected by Tsunami. The packages were delivered at the door steps of Vasanthy
